Professor Maki Sugimoto Okinaga Research Institute was awarded the title of Teikyo University Startup Company

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Teikyo Technology Transfer Center held the fourth Teikyo University Venture Title Award Ceremony at the Teikyo University Itabashi Campus, awarding the fourth title to Holoeyes Inc. (hereinafter referred to as Holoeyes), a venture company originating from the university. The university awards the title of this corporation to university-originated venture companies that are established using the university's intellectual property, research results, or human resources.

Sugimoto Professor, who received the title this time, is a graduate of the University's School of Medicine. After graduation, he worked as a Surgery doctor at Teikyo University Hospital Surgery, Teikyo University Chiba Medical Center and studied abroad in the U.S. He is currently the director of the Innovation Lab Office at Okinaga Research Institute at the University. Sugimoto Professor started Holoeyes in 2016, leveraging his research and experience, and currently serves as CEO. The company is one of the most successful ventures originating from the University, and its medical support business using the latest technologies developed independently, such as image analysis and VR virtual reality, is already being used as a programmed medical device in clinical and educational settings nationwide.

The ceremony was facilitated by the University's Teikyo Technology Transfer Center Director, Professor Hotaka Nakanishi, and the University's Chairman ? President Yoshihito Okinaga presented the title certificate to Maki Sugimoto, CEO of Holoeyes, Okinaga Research Institute Professor. Okinaga Chairman President stated, "It is very wonderful that we have been able to run ourselves so far.
Holoeyes continues to grow and is committed to expanding its business and collaborating with other countries. We look forward to their continued contribution to the development of medical technology using VR technology and the expansion of their overseas collaborations.
